The 1st place winner in each class will receive $50.00 The 2nd place winner will receive $25.00. They are required to write an essay of at least 500 words and made a family tree. The essays are due March 1st, 2020
The Society has been asked to help with the celebration of the 100th birthday of the Stone County Court House. When it was built a 100 years ago a time capsule was placed in the corner stone. The Galena Grade School STRETCH CLASS students are planning to open the capsule next spring. We are joining their committee to help with the preserving of the items found in the capsule and hopefully putting a new time capsule back Our President, Julie Green and Charolotte Lleweylln will be working with the committee.
