After several years of researching old plat maps, diaries, and other documents, the society received approval from the National Park Service as to the correctness of the route. The Stone County Historical/Genealogical museum was then approved the the National Park Service as a “Trail of Tears” interpretive center. Signs were ordered and installed by the Stone County Road Crew. Maps of the route are available at the museum in Crane. There are also brochures and a 20 minute video for your enjoyment.
